Rerik is situated on a narrow spit of land between the Salzhaff and the Baltic Sea, right at the transition from the mainland to the Wustrow peninsula and a few kilometres west of the chic Baltic seaside resort Kuehlungsborn. The village, which is home to 2300 people, is an inviting pace to relax and enjoy yourself or have an adventure exploring the area.  The seaside resort is ideal for travellers looking for somewhere more tranquil. As you can tell from the sailing, yachting, and fishing port, Rerik is a paradise for water sports. The Salzhaff is a popular sailing area, but you can also explore it aboard a tour boat. A beautiful promenade with spa park and playground runs along the bank. Opposite, on the promontory into the Baltic Sea, stretches a narrow, kilometre-long sandy beach.
