Health resorts

Charming natural areas surround the idyllic resorts on the coast and inland in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They offer pure relaxation and recreation. There are 36 resorts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In addition to the resorts shown, there are others such as:

The quality characteristics of a general health resort include + –

(1) The recognition as a health resort requires

1. a predominantly scenic and climatically favourable location with air-hygienic conditions, which support recovery,

2. a corresponding local character, as well as the conservation of landscape structures, taking into account nature and environmental protection,

3. facilities suitable for recovery as well as reading and recreation rooms,

4. bike paths, developed network of hiking trails, opportunities for sports and games,

5. swimming possibilities; These must be guarded if the location at a bathing lake is designated for the health resort.

Feldberg lake landscape

Whether by canoe, on foot, on horseback or by bike - the Feldberg lake landscape offers unique discoveries with crystal-clear lakes embedded in the forested hilly landscape for every form of recreation.

The Town of Sassnitz

The town of Sassnitz is located on the Jasmund peninsula of Rügen island, on the South-east beach of the national park. The semi-circular coast consists almost exclusively of chalk.

Ribnitz-Damgarten

In the north of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, wonderfully situated on the southern shore of Lake Ribnitz and only one wavelength away from the Baltic Sea, lies the amber town of Ribnitz-Damgarten. As the gateway to the Fischland-Darß-Zingst holiday region, Ribnitz-Damgarten opens its doors to its guests.

The town of Barth

The town of Barth, still a maritime insider tip, is surrounded by the flair of the legends of the lost town of Vineta. The small town with one of the most beautiful harbours in the north offers relaxation, peace and nature idyll away from the busy Baltic seaside resorts.

Prora

Prora is a district of the municipality of Ostseebad Binz on the island of Rügen and lies directly on the Baltic Sea coast in the Prorer Wiek. It combines nature and history like no other coastal resort.
