The Baltic series of paintings was created during Ilya Ulyanov's stays on Usedom between spring 2022 and August 2024. Over 150 works in oil, watercolor, gouache and acrylic capture the beauty of the Baltic Sea - like pages from an islander's diary.
The exhibition presents a selection curated by Ulyanov and invites visitors to rediscover the diversity of the Baltic Sea. Born in Moscow in 1983, the artist has lived in Germany since 2016 and has dedicated himself to painting since his career change. His works are inspired by Matisse and Munch, and he teaches at the Berlin art school Artgeschoss.
