Lecture by Dr. Wolf Karge
The lecture relates to the exhibition of sheets from the portfolio "Käthe Kollwitz - Zeichnungen der späten Jahre". These will be shown from April 2, 2025 in a special exhibition in the Ehm Welk House Bad Doberan.

Ehm Welk, known worldwide as a writer for the "Heiden von Kummerow", was initially active in cultural politics in Schwerin in the post-war period: as director of the adult education center and chairman of the Kulturbund group. After a few years, he withdrew from cultural politics - he wanted to return to writing - and found a new home in Bad Doberan in 1950. In 1948, he was presented with a portfolio of works by Käthe Kollwitz as a thank-you for his work in the Schwerin Cultural Association. This portfolio accompanied him to Bad Doberan and is still part of the library in the Ehm Welk House today.
