Käthe Miethe & Father Adolf

Adolf Miethe's (1862-1927) second daughter Käthe (1893-1961) grew up in a wealthy home and from 1901 onwards spent her summers with her parents in Althagen, where her father bought her a bakery in 1916, to which she finally moved from Berlin at the end of the 1930s. An attempt will be made to find evidence for the first four lines of Goethe's poem from both biographies:

From my father I have the stature,
The serious conduct of life,
From my mother's cheerful nature
And desire to fabulate...
