Location: The Bad Doberan health resort is located 15 km west of the Hanseatic town of Rostock and 6 km from the Baltic Sea and within easy reach of the other well-known Baltic seaside resorts in Mecklenburg. The first German seaside resort, Heiligendamm, is situated right by the sea.
By car:
- From the south: via the A19, Rostock junction on the A20 towards Lübeck, Bad Doberan exit
- From the west: via the A1, continue on the A 20, Bad Doberan exit
- From the east: A 20, Bad Doberan exit
- From the north: Rostock seaport international port, A19 Rostock Ost exit, continue on B105 towards Wismar / Bad Doberan
It is 15 km to the town from the Bad Doberan motorway exit. From there it is another 6 km from the Baltic Sea and the seaside health resort Heiligendamm. Bad Doberan is traversed by the B105, which connects the Baltic cities of Stralsund, Rostock, Wismar, and Lübeck from East to West.
By train:
Hourly trains run from the Bad Doberan train station to Rostock and Wismar. The historic Mecklenburg Bäderbahn »Molli« train connects Bad Doberan with Heiligendamm and Kühlungsborn. There are three stops in the town. The train runs every 1 to 2 hours depending on the season.
By bus:
Bad Doberan is connected with Rostock via the »Rebus GmbH« bus lines. Further connections run towards Heiligendamm, Warnemünde, Rerik, Kröpelin, Satow, and Kühlungsborn.
By plane:
